Thavenet Named Summit Academic All-League

ELMHURST, Ill. - Omaha track & field senior Alyssa Thavenet was named to the Summit League Indoor Track & Field Academic All-League Team on Wednesday.
Thavenet finished third in the Summit Indoor Championship in the 800 meters with a personal best time of 2:09.46. She earned All-Summit League honors for her performance.
Thavenet had the top 800 meter time in the state of Nebraska during the indoor season, extending a string for the Mavericks. Last season, sophomore Lauren Houston had the state's best indoor and outdoor 800 meter times.
The Mavericks begin the outdoor season at the Tulsa Duels on Friday and Saturday, March 17-18.
