Mavericks Prepare For Summit Championships

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team will compete in the Summit League Championships on Sunday-Tuesday, April 23-25 at ArborLinks in Nebraska City.
The Mavericks competed in 10 tournaments during their fall and spring seasons. They last played on April 10-11, taking 11th at the Bobcat Desert Invitational hosted by Montana State.
UNO was ranked eighth in the annual pre-season coaches poll and currently holds the same position in the team scoring chart with an average of 320.7 per round.
Junior Megan Vetrovsky has led the Mavericks in scoring in all nine tournaments in which she's competed. Her stroke average of 76.4 through 26 rounds puts her in a four-way tie for 13th among all Summit League golfers.
Vetrovsky has twice posted career-best 54-hole scores of 223 this season. She put up that total at the Chip-N Club Invitational at Nebraska on Sept. 25-27 and did so again at the Bama Beach Bash on March 17-19. In the latter tournament, she carded a career-low round of 72 in round two.
The Mavericks best finish in the championship came during their first appearance when they took fourth place in 2013.
The teams will tee off at 8 a.m. each day.
