Mavericks Add More PRs at Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – Freshman Nyakuome Thichiot put up the sixth-best triple jump mark in school history at the John Jacobs Invitational at Oklahoma on Saturday.
Thichiot's distance of 37-06 ¾ was a personal best and was good for seventh place overall. All three of her jumps were more than 37 feet, beating her previous PR. Teammate Taleah Williams posted a season-best mark in the same event, jumping 35-03 ¾.
In the 200 meters, Sydnee Mitchell-Jemison paced three Mavericks with a time of 25.94. Daylee Olson posted a PR of 26.42, and Brekk Flax ran a time of 26.99.
In the relays, the team of Sasha Quattlebaum, Mitchell-Jemison, Williams and Flax ran a time of 50.54 in the 4 x 100, good for eighth place. In the 4 x 400 meter relay, Mitchell-Jemison, Kayla Sabotin, Alyssa Thavenet and Lauren Houston took ninth with a time of 3:56.87.
On the field, Anna Edet threw 39-01 ¼ in the shot put, good for 15th. Kirsten Leisinger put up a PR of 31-00.
The Mavericks are back in action in two meets next week. They'll compete in the Drake Relays on Thursday-Saturday, April 27-29. They'll also take part in the Simpson Invite on Thursday-Friday.
