Cliff Cisar has coached UNO's distance runners since 2010, helping many achieve marks that rank in the top 10 in school history.
Cisar Hired as Full-Time Assistant

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha track & field head coach Chris Richardson announced today the hiring of Cliff Cisar as a full-time assistant coach.
"Cliff's knowledge of our sport and his dedication to our team have been demonstrated on a daily basis," said Richardson. "His athletes have shown a tremendous amount of improvement and I'm looking forward to that trend continuing.
"He brings many positive traits to the table for our program, and I'm excited to have him as a full-time assistant."
Cisar has been with the track & field and cross country programs since 2010, beginning as a volunteer assistant coach working primarily with UNO's distance runners. He was elevated to the position of part-time assistant coach prior to the 2015-16 season.
"I'm excited for the opportunity that Chris Richardson and Omaha Athletics has presented me," said Cisar. "Omaha holds a special place in my heart as it is both my hometown and home to my alma mater, UNO.
"I'm looking forward to continuing to grow our program and strengthen our connection to the community."
Cisar is an Omaha native and graduated from UNO in 2012 with a degree in exercise science. He has coached several Mavericks to marks that rank among the top 10 in school history.
