Mavericks Release 2017-18 Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. –The Omaha swimming & diving team has released its schedule for the 2017-18 season, head coach Todd Samland announced Friday.
The regular season is slated with 10 events, including three home meets at HPER Pool.
Omaha jumps into the season with five straight road events, opening with Air Force (Oct. 10), Iowa State (Oct. 27) and Northern Iowa (Nov. 4). Two weeks later, the Maverick divers head to the Mizzou Invite (Nov. 16-19), while the swimmers travel to the Kansas Classic (Nov. 17-19).
Omaha kicks off its Summit League schedule with its first home meet of the season, facing South Dakota (Jan. 12), then welcomes in-state foe Nebraska (Jan. 13). Omaha visits South Dakota State (Jan. 19) for another Summit League contest before hosting Western Illinois (Jan. 26) in its last home meet and senior night.
Following that outing, Omaha heads to its last regular-season multi-team meet of the year at the South Dakota Invite (Feb. 2-3) before the Summit League Championships (Feb. 14-17) in Sioux Falls, S.D.
"We have 18 returning athletes who scored points at conference last year, and we have an amazing group of freshmen coming in," head coach Todd Samland said. "It's very possible that we could set six or more school records this year. It's going to be another fun season."
