Mavericks Picked Fourth in League Preseason Poll

ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Omaha swimming & diving team has been picked fourth in the 2017-18 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Friday.
Denver, the four-time defending league champion, was tabbed the preseason favorite with five first-place votes. South Dakota received the remaining first-place vote and was picked in the second spot. South Dakota State followed in third, followed by Omaha voted in fourth. Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois rounded out the poll in fifth and sixth, respectively.
Sophomore Andrea Brosnahan and senior Tiril Jensen were also named to the Summit League Athletes to Watch List.
The Mavericks return seven athletes who have previously earned All-Summit honors: Jensen, Brosnahan, seniors Cassandra Jahn, Kendra Lair and Olivia McLain, junior Kylie Vermeire and sophomore Brook Landt.
Omaha opens the 2017-18 season on Saturday, Oct. 14, visiting Air Force at 10 a.m. CT.
