Mavericks Travel to Lincoln for Graduate Classic

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha track & field team will travel to Lincoln for the two-day Graduate Classic at Nebraska on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12-13. Competition begins at 4 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.
The Mavericks are competing at their second meet of the indoor season and the first since Dec. 9 when the team was at the K-State Winter Invitational.
In that meet, Anna Edet set a personal best and second all-time mark in the weight throw at 55 feet 2.75 inches (16.83 meters). Two-time reigning Summit League high jump champion Stephanie Ahrens tied for second with a jump of 5 feet 8.75 inches (1.75 meters).
Annie Catania ran 3:05.75 and Anita Jenkins ran 3:05.77 in the 1,000 meter event, finishing second and third, respectively. Both set new personal records. Noni Henderson claimed fourth in the long jump with a jump of 16 feet 3.25 inches (4.96 meters).
Next weekend, the Mavericks will travel to Brookings, S.D. for the Jim Emmerich Invitational at South Dakota State on Saturday, Jan. 20. Competition begins at noon.
