Mavericks Picked Seventh in Preseason Poll

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Omaha women's golf team has been picked seventh in the Summit League preseason coaches' poll.
The Mavericks received 14 points in the voting, just behind Western Illinois (19) and just ahead of Fort Wayne (8). Omaha finished eighth last season when the Summit was a nine-team league.
Denver was picked to win the Summit League title for the fifth consecutive year. The Pioneers got seven first-place votes and 49 points overall. Oral Roberts and North Dakota State tied for second with 38 points each. Oral Roberts got the other first-place vote. The complete poll appears below.
Omaha senior Megan Vetrovsky was named to the pre-season watch list. The native of McCook Neb. was UNO's scoring leader through the fall season with a stroke average of 79.6 in 14 rounds. She is a three-time member of the Summit League Academic Honor Roll and a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar.
The Mavericks open the spring season at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic hosted by the College of Charleston on Feb. 25-27 in Kiawah Island, S.C. The Summit League Championship will be held at ArborLinks in Nebraska City on April 22-24.
