OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's golf head coach Seth Porter announced today the signing of Josh Peters to a national letter of intent. Peters will join the team for the 2019-20 season.
"Josh is a local guy from Millard North with a lot of potential," said Porter. "He is a big, strong kid who hits the ball a long way. He has great touch around the greens that will only be a plus on his transition to Division I golf.
"If Josh keeps improving like he has the last couple of years, he has the opportunity to make a big impact at UNO over the course of his career."
Peters has been a letter winner in each of his first three seasons at Millard North with his senior season upcoming in the spring. Last season, he was the state Class A runner up for the Mustangs who finished as runners up at the state championship. He was a 10-time individual medalist, including the district champion. Peters was named first team all-metro, first team class A all-state and Superstate.
Outside of high school action, Peters was a 16-time Nebraska Golf Association tournament medalist, a three-time medalist in the Nebraska Junior Amateur, including a runner-up finish in 2018, and a two-time qualifier for the Nebraska-Kansas Junior Cup team.
