Diving Wraps Up Hawkeye Invite, Swimming Opens At Kansas Classic

IOWA CITY, IOWA – The Omaha diving team wrapped up competition at the Hawkeye Invite, while the swimmers opened at the Kansas Classic in Topeka, Kan.
In Iowa City, the divers were led by Annika Clinton, who posted a 232.05 to finish 23rd in the 3-meter. Madeline Taylor followed in 30th with a score of 212.85, while Jacquelyn Gaworski posted a 208.65 to finish 33rd. Emma Weis rounded out the scoring for Omaha with a 183.90 in 40th.
For the swimmers, they concluded the first day of the Kansas Classic and sit in fifth of six teams thus far with a team score of 92 behind Northern Iowa (158), North Texas (166.5), Iowa State (195) and Kansas (361.5).
Grete Baker posted a top-10 finish in the 200-yard IM to finish ninth with a time of 205.38. In the 500-yard free, Rachel Morrow and Kylie Vermeire narrowly missed the top-10. The duo finished 11th and 12th with times of 5:02.38 and 5:02.71, respectively. Morrow also posted a finish of 13th in the 50-yard free with a time of 23.99.
The Maverick swimming program continues action Saturday, Nov 17, for the second day of the Kansas Classic.
