
The Mavericks have added one incoming runner for cross country and distance events next season.

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha cross country head coach Cliff Cisar announced the signing of one student-athletes to National Letters of Intent today.
Danielle Howard will join the Mavericks for the 2019-20 academic year, running both cross country and the distance events for the track & field team.
"I'm very thrilled to have Danielle join the Maverick family," said Cisar. "She brings to the table exactly what a coach likes to see. She is an excellent students, a great person and is extremely passionate about the sports of cross country and track.
"I look forward to watching her develop throughout the remainder of her senior year and can't wait to get to work with her next fall."
Howard is a native of Sioux Falls, S.D. where she has lettered for four years at Roosevelt High School. This past fall, she qualified for the state meet in cross country. As a junior last year, she qualified for the state championship track & field meet in the 3,200 meters, finishing sixth, and in the 4 x 800 meter relay which finished third. She also qualified for the state meet in cross country.
The Mavericks open the indoor track & field season on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8, at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic hosted by Northwest Missouri State.
