Pair of Top-Three Relays Spur Omaha at Summit League Championships

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha swimming & diving team opened up the first day of the Summit League Championships Wednesday night at Midco Aquatic Center.
The 200-yard medley relay squad of Kirsten Kracke, Tiril Jensen, Olivia McLain and Naeleah Hadford started the night strong for the Mavericks with a third-place finish and a school-record time of 1:43.42.
To cap off day one, McLain, Rachel Morrow, Cassie Jahn and Kylie Vermeire notched another third-place finish for Omaha in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:30.03.
"I'm so pleased for our program tonight," head coach Todd Samland. "We put together four solid swims and got the school record in the 200 medley relay, and our 800 free relay was just a tenth of a second off another school record. It was a great night, and we're looking forward to tomorrow."
The Mavericks dive back into action on Thursday, Feb. 15, with morning prelims starting at 10 a.m. and evening finals at 5 p.m.
