Twelve Mavericks Named to All-Summit Swimming & Diving Team

OMAHA, Neb. -- Twelve Omaha student-athletes were named to the All-Summit League Swimming & Diving Team, the conference office announced Tuesday. To qualify, student-athletes must have finished in the top three of an event at the 2018 Summit League Championships held Feb. 14-17 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Freshman Naeleah Hadford garnered all-league recognition in the 50 free, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Junior Kirsten Kracke joined her with all-league plaudits in the same three relays.
Senior Olivia McLain, junior Madison Ewald and sophomore Rachel Morrow each picked up two All-Summit awards. Ewald took home honors in the 200 and 400 free relays, McLain garnered recognition in the 200 medley and 800 free relays, and Morrow was named for the 400 and 800 free relays.
Seven other Mavericks earned all-league status: seniors Tiril Jensen (200 medley relay), Cassandra Jahn (800 free relay) and Monica Houck (1-meter dive), juniors Annika Clinton (1-meter dive), Grete Baker (400 IM) and Kylie Vermeire (800 free relay) and sophomore Brook Landt (200 free relay).
In addition, head coach Todd Samland was selected Summit League Women's Swimming Coach of the Year, and diving coach Eric Sprague was honored as Summit League Women's Diving Coach of the Year.
In total, a combined 87 student-athletes -- 43 men and 44 women -- were named to the two teams.
