ANNAPOLIS, Md – Five Omaha swimmers wrapped up their season Saturday at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships at the Lejeune Pool at the United States Naval Academy.

The Omaha quintet competed in 11 individual events and three relays in Annapolis.

Kylie Vermeire placed seventh in the 1650 free with a time of 17:31.20 during Saturday night's final session and 27th in the 500 free with a time of 5:06.24 during Thursday's preliminaries.

Naeleah Hadford competed in the 50 free on Thursday, placing 33rd with a time of 23.74. She then swam the 100 back on Friday, touching the wall at 57.06, which was good for 31st. Hadford finished her last individual events of the season with a 44th-place finish in the 100 free, swimming to a time of 51.92.

Rachel Morrow got her individual slate of events started Friday with the 200 free, where she finished with a time of 1:51.85 for 30th. On Saturday, Morrow competed in the 100 free and also finished 44th, which tied her with Hadford at 51.92.

Kirsten Kracke swam an individual event each day of the meet and started with the 50 free on Thursday. She placed 68th with a time of 24.44. Kracke then swam the 100 back on Friday, finishing 37th at 58.10. She wrapped up her meet Saturday with the 100 free, where she swam a time of 53.29 for 72nd place.

Brook Landt was the fifth Maverick to finish her season in Annapolis, swimming the 50 free on Thursday to finish 65th with a time of 24.63.

Omaha competed in the 200 free relay on Thursday where Hadford, Morrow, Landt and Kracke finished 18th overall (1:35.12). On Friday, the foursome represented the Mavericks in the 200 medley relay and finished 22nd (1:46.79). Wrapping up the meet and the season on Saturdaywas the 400 free relay squad of Hadford, Morrow, Vermeire and Kracke, who swam to a 19th-place finish (3:29.32).

"This meet was a big step for our program and our first postseason swimming competition at the Division I level," head coach Todd Samland said. "This is a meet where I can see us moving forward with our program. We had our first individual point scorer in Kylie Vermeire. The next step is to have a relay score points at this level of competition."
