
Senior Stephanie Ahrens was named to the Summit League Academic All-League Team for outdoor track & field for the second straight year.

ELMHURST, Ill. – Senior Stephanie Ahrens of the Omaha track & field team has been named to the Summit League Academic All-League Team.
It is the second time she's received the honor after first being recognized during her junior year.
Ahrens holds a 3.55 cumulative grade-point average in architectural engineering. She made history last weekend, becoming the first Maverick to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the Division I era. She jumped 5-10 ¾ in the high jump at the NCAA West Preliminary to tie for second in the qualifying field.
The native of Lincoln, Neb. tied the school record in the outdoor high jump earlier this season when she jumped 5-11 ½ at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California in April. She also owns the school indoor high jump record at 5-10 ¾ which she set as a freshman in 2015.
Ahrens will compete on the final day of the championship on Saturday, June 9 at 5 p.m. CT in Eugene, Ore.
