BEATRICE, Neb. – Rising senior Jordan York of the Omaha women's golf team won the rain-shortened Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Championship on Wednesday.
York, a native of Scottsbluff, was the leader through two rounds at the Beatrice Country Club after shooting scores of 73 and 77 for a total of 150. That put her at six over par, two clear of Brandi Lemek and Hannah Thiele who tied for second.
The third round was cancelled on Wednesday due to recent heavy rains that made the course unplayable, making York the champion.
Omaha rising sophomore Hannah Hunke, a native of Snyder, took ninth with a score of 160 that included rounds of 82 and 78. Former Maverick Sophie Peters, a 2015 graduate, tied for 13th with a final score of 166.
