CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Omaha women's golf team has been named the recipient of the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team GPA Award for the 2017-18 season.
The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf team with highest team grade-point average. The Mavericks led the nation in all divisions with a team GPA of 3.949. It's the first time the school has won the award.
All six members of the team – Mandy Boyle, Samantha Chong, Hannah Hunke, Sami Langford, Megan Vetrovsky and Jordan York – were named WGCA All-American Scholars earlier this month. Student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA to earn the award. The Mavericks led all Summit League schools in All-American Scholars.
On Tuesday, all six team members were named to the Summit League Academic Honor Roll. The league will announce its Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence on Thursday.
