Mavericks Begin Fall Campaign at Colorado State

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team kicks off its season at the Ram Masters Invitational at Colorado State on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 17-18.
The Mavericks will be one of 17 teams taking part in the 54-hole event that includes 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday at the Fort Collins Country Club. Play begins each day at 9 a.m. CT.
Senior Kevin Gordon is Omaha's leading returning scorer, posting a stroke average of 73.2 in 18 rounds last season. He is poised to play in his 100th career round for the Mavericks this fall.
David Huxham was second on the team last season with a stroke average of 76.3, just ahead of Cole Christain who was third at 76.6.
Thirawat Chantrakantanond was fourth on the team at 77.3 and like Huxham, was one of only two players to compete in all 33 rounds last season. Chantrakantanond was a member of the Summit League All-Tournament Team for finishing in a tie for fourth at the 2018 league championship.
Newcomers Witchayapat Sinsrang and Nick Kagy will likely play big roles for the Mavericks this season. The junior duo comes to Omaha from Dodge City Community College. Sinsrang is a two-time NJCAA Ping First Team All-American, finishing 17th overall at last year's NJCAA National Championship. Kagy was a first team all-conference and all-district pick in both seasons for Dodge City.
Following play at Colorado State, the Mavericks will head east to play in the Derek Dolenc Invitational at SIUE on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 24-25.
