OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team returns to Nebraska to take part in The Jackrabbit hosted by South Dakota State at The Prairie Club in Valentine on Sunday-Tuesday, Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

The tournament features 18 holes each day from the Dunes course. Play begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday and Monday and at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks will be one of 13 teams in the field.

The Mavericks will be trying to build on a strong outing at SIUE earlier in the week. Senior Kevin Gordon broke two records and the team broke two more as Omaha finished second at the Derek Dolenc Invitational.

Gordon was the runner up in the 96-player field, shooting a school record 54-hole total of 206 while also shooting a school-record score of 66 in round three.

The Mavericks carded a team score of 280 in round one, breaking the old school record for lowest single-round team score. Their 54-hole total of 854 also was a school record.

Witchayapat Sinsrang tied for sixth overall with a score of 213 while Nick Kagy was third on the team and tied for 24th with a 54-hole total of 218.

Cole Christain posted a total score of 221 that had him fourth on the team and tied for 31st overall, and Thirawat Chantrakantanond tied for 56th overall after shooting 226 for the tournament.

Following play in Valentine, the Mavericks will have two weeks off before finishing the fall at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominion on Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 21-23.
