Mavericks Tabbed Second In Summit League Preseason Poll

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha swimming and diving program was picked to finish second in The Summit League Preseason Poll, as announced Friday, Sept. 28.
The Mavericks tallied 19 points and one first-place vote, while the Denver Pioneers were selected first for the sixth consecutive year with 25 points and five first-place votes.
Last season, the Mavericks finished runner-up at The Summit League Championships with 696 total points, while Todd Samland and Eric Sprague garnered Summit League Swimming and Diving Coaches of the Year honors.
The freshmen trio of Lauryn Schieffer (back, free), Bethany Gatlin (fly, IM) and Emma Weis (Diving) were selected to The Summit League Swimmers and Divers to Watch list.
Omaha opens the 2018-19 slate against Northern Iowa at the HPER Pool on Friday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m.
