Mavericks Hold Open Try-Outs

The Omaha Track and Field/Cross Country program will host open tryouts on Thursday, September 20 at 4 p.m. for the WOMEN'S team in the Sapp Fieldhouse. All interested individuals must contact the coaching staff at trackxc@omavs.com by Friday, September 14 with the following information:

Name
NUID number
Previous school (college or high school)
Year in school
College GPA or high school GPA AND test score
Previous experience and event personal bests
Other sports played in high school

In order to be eligible for this tryout, interested females must adhere to the following criteria:

Be enrolled full-time at UNO as a degree-seeking student
Complete and return all paperwork and a front and back copy of your insurance card to the UNO athletic training room located in room 024 of the Sapp Fieldhouse; or email documentation to Mike Nicola, head athletic trainer, at mnicola@omavs.com
Have completed and have proof of a physical by a physician within the past calendar year

Any individual who has not completed all the necessary paper work will not be allowed to try out. Any individual selected for the team will have their transcripts and test score academically evaluated by the Omaha Athletics compliance department to determine eligibility to participate in college athletics. If cleared, the individual then must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center which requires an $80 fee. Per NCAA and UNO policies, all student-athletes are subject to random drug tests. All participants should be warmed up and ready to start at 4 p.m.
