Mavericks Sign Three For Fall

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's golf head coach Seth Porter announced today the signing of three student-athletes for the 2020-21 season.
The three players will be true freshmen in the fall of 2020. The following is an alphabetic list of the incoming players with comments from Coach Porter.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk
Bangkok, Thailand
The American School of Bangkok
Boonbumroongsuk will come to Omaha from her native Thailand, having played extensively there and in other tournaments internationally. She plans to major in business administration.
"Jinna comes with a bunch of junior experience in Thailand as well as international experience around the globe," said Porter. "We are very excited to add a player of her caliber to our roster in the fall."
Mika Miyata
Chandler, Ariz.
Desert Vista High School
Miyata is a four-year letter winner for Desert Vista High School where she will finish her senior season in the spring. A team captain for the second straight year, she finished third overall this fall at the Tempe Invitational with a three-over round of 73. As a junior, she was the Tempe All-City Female Golfer of the Year while helping her team to the 2018 Tempe All-City Championship for the second straight year. She plans to major in marketing at UNO.
"Mika comes in with a great deal of experience from Arizona on their junior circuit as well as national experience," said Porter. "She is very dedicated on the golf course and the classroom as well, and we are looking forward to what Mika can do here in Omaha."
Brynn Sundquist
Lincoln, Neb.
Lincoln Southwest High School
Sundquist is a four-year letter winner at Lincoln Southwest High School. As a senior this fall, she captained the Silverhawks to a Class A state championship while finishing as a runner up individually. During the summer, she posted a top-10 finish at the Nebraska Junior PGA Championship and a top-five finish at the Nebraska Girls Amateur Championship. A standout in the classroom, she is a four-year academic all-conference selection and a two-time academic all-state honoree. She plans to major in biochemistry.
"Brynn is a local player from Lincoln who really came on strong this fall for her high school team and really caught our attention as coaches," said Porter. "We think that she is just scratching the surface of her potential and look forward to what she can do as a Maverick for the next four years."
The Mavericks will open their spring season at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic hosted by The College of Charleston on March 1-3.
