Ahrens Notches Academic All-Summit Honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha high jumper Stephanie Ahrens was selected to the Summit League All-Academic Team, the league office announced Wednesday, March 13.

The honor marks the third conference academic award for her career. Ahrens holds a 3.67 GPA and is set to earn her degree in architectural engineering. The voting was decided on by a panel of faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors from the league's member institutions. Student-athletes were chosen for the accolade based on their academic and athletic performances this past season.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.

Ahrens recently concluded her career with her second-straight year of earning All-America status in the high jump at the NCAA Championships with a height of 5'11.25" (1.81 meters). She capped off her time at UNO with five Summit League High Jump titles, the event record holder for both the indoor and outdoor seasons and a two-time All-America honoree.

This season alone, Ahrens recently set the indoor record back on Feb. 9 at the Northwest Missouri State Invite with a height of 6'00.5" (1.84). Her mark today is the second-highest behind her record-breaking performance exactly a month ago. She also had five top finishes for the high jump this season and eight top-5 results.
