Mavericks Picked Seventh in Summit Preseason Indoor Poll

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha track & field team has been tabbed seventh in the annual preseason Summit League coaches' poll.
The Mavericks received 13 points in the voting, just behind Western Illinois.
North Dakota State was chosen to win the Summit League indoor season for the 12th straight year. The Bison received five first-place votes and 41 points overall. South Dakota was second with 38 points and the other two first-place votes. South Dakota State was third with 32 points.

Sophomore Carrie Simonson was named to the preseason Athletes to Watch list. As a freshman, she ran Omaha's best time in the 200 meters (25.34) and also posted a team-best mark of 17-05 in the long jump, both lifetime bests. The native of Springfield, Neb. also has Omaha's second best returning time in the 60 meters (7.91).
The Mavericks' indoor schedule is still being finalized.
