
Mavericks Send Four to Finals on Day Two

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha swimming & diving team sent four athletes to the finals on the second day of the 2020 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare on Thursday.

"We had some incredible performances and some performances that we held our own," said head coach Todd Samland. "We are happy that we scored in every event tonight."

Anna Capoun, Alyssa Parsons, Rachel Morrow and Brook Landt teamed up to place fourth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:35.38.

Capoun recorded the top individual finish for the Mavericks with a fifth-place finish in the 50 free with a time of 23.69. Brook Land also swam in the 50 free, placing 13th with a finish of 24.40.

Bethany Gatlin led a quartet of Mavericks in the top-16 of the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.20 to place sixth. Mallory Dickey and Rebecca Martini went back-to-back, clocking finishes of 2:08.53 and 2:09.90 to place 11th and 12th, respectively. Annie Leinart rounded out the Mavericks in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.20 to place 14th.

Mackenzie Stewart finished in 14th-place in the 100 fly with a time of 58.73.

Morrow swam a 5:05.98 to place seventh in the 500 free while Maddie Mather placed 12th and swam a 5:09.74. Sydney Haynes posted a 16th-place finish after swimming a 5:19.33.

Kady Eller led the Maverick divers in the 1-meter with a score to 225.50 to place sixth. Reece Cooper scored a 232.55 to place ninth while Natalie Wright finished 11th and totaled a 182.90.
