Kagy Earns Mavericks' Second Straight Golfer of the Week Nod

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Senior Nick Kagy of the Omaha men's golf team was named the Summit League Golfer of the Week, the second Maverick to earn the honor in as many weeks.
Kagy led the Mavericks in scoring earlier this week, shooting a 54-hole score of 223 at the Sacramento State Invitational at Elk Grove, Calif.
The native of Overland Park, Kan. finished the tournament with an even-par round of 72 after opening with a one-over card of 73. He tied for ninth overall in the field of 66 golfers.
It's the first weekly honor for Kagy. He follows teammate Witchayapat Sinsrang who was named the Summit's Co-Golfer of the Week last week after leading the Mavericks to a win in their spring opener at California Baptist.
The Mavericks are off for a little more than a week before returning to action at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz. on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14.
