Letters From Home: Josh Boyer

Being back in Alaska has been relaxing. I’ve been hiking, doing homework, watching online church sermons and training for next season in my living room. Since leaving Omaha, I have also been spending lots of quality time with friends and family through Zoom and FaceTime calls, and started working at a local grocery store.

I am fortunate enough to say my classes went well. My math class was the only one that I took in person before the campus shut down, and it was challenging to understand some of the concepts when you watch the virtual lectures.
I’m glad that most of my other courses were already online because it made the transition to all courses being taken on the computer a bit smoother than it was for the majority of students at UNO.

I miss being in the dorms with the other freshmen on our team and walking to Roast and other restaurants/stores in Aksarben Village. And I firmly believe our whole team misses being in Baxter Arena with our student section, the Red Army and the rest of our amazing Mav fans!
