Mavericks Earn Spots on Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League announced today its list of 757 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, a list that included 73 Mavericks.
To earn the honor, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, have used a year of eligibility and completed one year at their school.
The Mavericks ranked fifth out of the nine full-time Summit League members in both student-athletes and selections (80). The latter number accounts for student-athletes recognized for both cross country and track & field.
In addition, UNO men's basketball, swimming & diving and volleyball all were recognized with Team Academic Achievement Awards which note the highest percentage of list eligible student-athletes named to the Commissioner's List.
The Mavericks tied Purdue Fort Wayne and South Dakota State for second on that list. North Dakota State led the Summit with five teams.
