MEN'S BASKETBALL
Omaha opened the week with its final non-conference tilt, falling 60-58 after a late game-winning three by K-State. Ayo Akinwole led the way with a season-high 19 points, and Sam'i Roe had 12 points.
Omaha made its home debut with two games to open Summit League play over the weekend against Oral Roberts. On Saturday, Marlon Ruffin put up a season-best 24 points and Matt Pile had 17 points with eight rebounds in the Mavericks' 95-83 loss to ORU.
On Sunday, Ruffin was Omaha's leading scorer again with 21 points to lead a contingent of five double-figure scorers. La'Mel Robinson also had a standout effort with season highs of 16 points and seven boards as the Mavericks fell 86-75.
