Omaha Basketball Returns For Final Home Weekend

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's and women's basketball teams will grace the floor of Baxter Arena for the final time this season when they host North Dakota on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19-20.

The women's games will begin at 3 p.m. each day while the men will follow at 7 p.m.

Tickets for all four games are available at Ticketmaster.com, BaxterArena.com and through the Maverick app. There will be no walk-up sales at the Baxter Arena box office to eliminate crowds in the arena lobby.

Among the story lines for this weekend's games:

Men

Playing their final home series of the season, Omaha will honor seniors Ayo Akinwole and Matt Pile with Senior Day festivities prior to Saturday's game.
The Mavericks have won 12 straight meetings with North Dakota dating back to 2007.
Omaha has an 8-0 advantage against the Fighting Hawks in its Division I era, including 4-0 at home.
Akinwole has scored in double figures in four straight games. He's coming off averaging 15.5 ppg at Kansas City last weekend.
Pile nearly averaged a double-double last weekend with 10.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg and 2.0 bpg against the Roos.

Women

Elena Pilakouta leads the Mavericks in scoring and rebounding with 12.1 points and 5.5 boards per game.
Claire Killian has scored in double-figures in the last four games, averaging 17.5 points per game in that stretch.
Sarah Schmitt had a 12-point performance with career-high totals of eight assists and seven rebounds at Kansas City last Saturday.
These will be the final home games for Omaha's four seniors: Claire Killian, Juliana Chagas, Sophie Johnston and Mikaela Ekdahl.
