NEWTON, Kan. – The Omaha men's golf team took seventh place at the Summit League Golf Championship on Monday.
Noah Hartman led the Mavericks in the third round of the tournament, shooting an even par 72. Omaha closed the event with a team score of 304 and posted a 54-hole total of 901.
Denver repeated as Summit Champion with a score of 865. Oral Roberts finished second at 873, and North Dakota State was third with 885. ORU's Jackson Howes was the individual medalist with a 10-under total of 206.
Mathew Halvorson was UNO's top scorer for the second time this season and finished sixth overall in the field of 45 golfers with a total score of 219, a season best, and three over par for the championship. He finished the tournament with his second straight round of 75.
Hartman was second on the team and tied for 17th overall with a total of 224. Like Halvorson, he had three birdies on his round.
Josh Bartels and Jacob Zerby finished in a tie for 29th overall after both posted final scores of 230. Bartels shot 79 in the final round while Zerby carded an 80.
Josh Peters finished the scoring for the Mavericks, shooting a 78 in round three for a total of 235. He finished in a tie for 35th.
