Ensley Finishes 2nd overall at Platte River Rumble to Help Lead Omaha to 4th Place Finish

In the inaugural Platte River Rumble, the first home meet for the Mavericks in over four years, they came out and competed for six full kilometers and walk away with an outstanding 4th place finish. Omaha finished with a total time of 1:50:13.40.

"Whenever you get an opportunity to compete in a "home" scenario, there is a heightened emotional component that can sometimes negatively effect your performance," Omaha head coach Cliff Cisar said. "Our team handled it like champs today and put together arguably our best meet ever in the Division 1 era. This a great stepping stone as we begin to head into championship season."

Freshman runner Kamryn Ensley continues to shine as a Maverick this season. The Clive, Iowa native finished 2nd overall with a time of 21:02.4. Ensley has now finished in the top-10 of every race this season. The top-7 Maverick runners all finished in the top 42. As a whole team, Omaha had all runners finish in the top 85 out of the 125 runner field. Results for all Maverick runners are posted below with their finish and time.

A 4th place finish in their first true home meet in over four years and the beginning of an annual event should be considered quite the success by everyone involved and that's exactly how Cisar see's it.

"I want to thank everyone who took the time to come out to today's race to support us. It means the world to have the support we have, the team and I are just so grateful for all of it," Cisar said.
