Mavericks Finish Runners Up At Big O Classic

Elkhorn, Neb.- The Omaha men's golf team finishes the Big O Classic with a share of second place after round three action on Tuesday.
The Mavericks recorded a team score of 292 in the third round for a total of 868 to end in a tie for second place with SIUE. The two fall five strokes behind St. Thomas, who wins the event with a total score of 863.
Kurtis Rodriguez finishes at the top of the Maverick table. The sophomore earned fourth place after posting a 70 (-2) in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 213. Rodriguez was just three strokes behind Creighton's Shaun Campbell, who won the event with a total score of 210.
Connor Wilson and Carter Doose share 22nd place with total scores of 221. Wilson notched an 80 in the final round, while Doose recorded a 73 (+1).
Christopher Atkinson and Mathew Halvorson end with scores of 223 and 224, respectively. Atkinson shares 30th place with a 71 (-1) in the final round on Tuesday, and Halvorson ends in a tie for 38th place after a 78 (+6) in round three.
The following athletes all played individually.
Noah Hartman ends with a share of 50th place with a three-round score of 226. Tyler Eedy and Nolan Johnson share 55th place with scores of 227. Hartman posted an 80 in the final round. Eedy recorded a 78 (+6), and Johnson notched a 79 (+7).
Josh Bartels and Jack Tickle ended with scores of 235 and 242, respectively. Bartels used a 77 (+5) in round three to tie for 84th place. Tickle notched an 82 in the final round to tie for 92nd.
The Mavericks are back in action in Wichita, Kan. at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 10-11. Follow the action with live scoring, available at Omavs.com.
