Omaha, Neb.- The Omaha men's golf team is back in action this week at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in Houston, Texas.
Three rounds of golf will be played over two days at Augusta Pines Golf Club, a 7,041 yard-course. Houston Baptist plays host to 15 schools for the invitational. The field includes Gonzaga, Missouri State, Weber State, Nicholls State, DePaul, New Orleans, Incarnate Word, Texas-Rio Grande Valley, Southeastern Louisiana, Stehpen F. Austin, Midland College, North Dakota, and Prairie View A&M.
The Mavericks finished in 10th place at the Joust at Goose Creek two weeks ago. The team totaled 902 over three rounds, four strokes behind Dixie State, who took ninth.
Here's how Omaha will line up for this week's tournament:

Kurtis Rodriguez tied his lowest three-round score of the year, scoring 216 (+3) two weeks ago. The freshman tied for fifth place at the event, his best finish on the leaderboard in his career. Rodriguez debuted at the Kansas State Invitational last fall where he scored 245 (+29). In the next three events, the freshman posted total scores of 216 (E), 217 (+2), and 216 (+3), landing in the top-10 twice out of the three tournaments.
Josh Peters shot 218 (+5) at the Joust at Goose Creek. The junior tied for 10th on the leaderboard, his highest placing of the season. Peters has a stroke average of 72.9, the lowest on the team.
Senior Mathew Halvorson ended the Joust with a score of 234. Sophomore Carter Doose matched the senior's score, and they tied for 68th overall.
Christopher Atkinson played in three tournaments in the fall, averaging 75.3 strokes per round. The freshman scored 225 (+9) at the Stampede at the Creek, tying for 23rd place on the leaderboard. Atkinson will be making his first appearance of the spring at the Montgomerie Invitational.
