Baseball, Men's Golf Earn Summit League Academic Achievement Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - One-hundred and eight Mavericks earned Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence honors Friday afternoon, while Omaha baseball and men's golf took home the Team Academic Achievement Awards.
In order for a student-athlete to be selected to the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, the student-athlete must carry a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA, have used a year of eligibility and completed three full semesters or five quarters at the nominating institution.
A total of 947 Summit League student-athletes across 17 sports were honors. The Mavericks were fourth with total number of student-athletes honored.
Fourteen Omaha program's saw at least one of their student-athletes named to the Commissioner's List.
In addition, the league recognized Team Academic Achievement Awards for each sport based on the percentage of list-eligible student-athletes on the Commissioner's List.
Omaha baseball and men's tennis earned the team award for their respective sports. Nearly 40 percent of the Maverick baseball squad were named to the Commissioner's list, while eight of the 11 golfers achieved the honor.
