Cross Country Heads to Lincoln for Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invite

Cross Country is back in action this weekend racing in the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invite for their second race of the season.
"The team is really looking forward to this upcoming race. It will be another great opportunity to see where we sit within a lot of programs in the region," Omaha head coach Cliff Cisar said. "We have had a very solid couple of weeks of good, consistent training. That should allow the group to translate that work into Raceday confidently.
The Mavericks are looking to build off their first race success where they finished 6th and placed four runners in the top 50 including three top 25 finishers.
"The team is really just excited to show the growth from our first competition," Cisar said. "They came out very competitive at Augie. We are more confident now than we were on that Friday because of that. We have talked about how we left a lot of points out there and how our 4-9 spots can make a huge difference for us as we continue throughout the season. Our emphasis in this race is to be trust one another while minimizing uncommon gaps that we really don't let happen during practice."
The Mavericks run at 10:45 a.m. tomorrow morning at Mahoney golf course in Lincoln, Nebraska.
