Carter Doose returns in the top slot for Omaha after recording a team-high total of 220 at the Wildcat Inv. The junior looks to crack the top-20 after placing 21st in the first event of the year. Mathew Halvorson was just behind Doose with a 54-hole score of 223 two weeks ago. The veteran returns to the lineup for his 20th consecutive event, a streak dating back to Halvorson's first year in the program in 2020.
Nolan Johnson made his collegiate debut two weeks ago at the Wildcat Invitational and returns to Porter's lineup for this week. The freshman from Gretna shot an even round of 72 en route to a 54-hole total of 224. Another Gretna golfer, Christopher Atkinson, makes his first appearance of the season, golfing individually. The sophomore played 23 rounds last year for the Mavericks, posting a stroke-average of 75.6.
Also taking their first competitive swings of the fall season are Kurtis Rodriguez and Connor Wilson. Rodriguez, a sophomore, averaged 75.0 strokes-per-round and led the team with six par-or-better rounds a season ago. Wilson, the graduate transfer from Arkansas State, recorded a career stroke-average of 74.6 and a career-low round of 69.
