
Mavericks Take Sixth in Chicago

Libertyville, Ill.-- The Omaha women's golf team finished the final round of the Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational in sixth place on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Merit Club in suburban Chicago.Â
The Mavericks scored 313 in the third round for a 54-hole total of 946. Omaha finished five strokes behind fifth place Drake, and two strokes ahead of sixth place Butler. North Dakota State won the invite with a three-round total of 914, and California Baptist's Pusanisa Ekkantrong earned the individual medal with a total score of 222.Â
Nicole Hansen led the Mavericks with a three-round total of 232. Hansen earned 12th place overall after scoring 78 (+6) in the final round. Emily Karmazin finished two strokes behind Hansen with a total score of 234. Karmazin tied for 17th place after a 77 (+5) in round three on Tuesday.Â
Macarena Garcia totaled 239 over 54 holes. Garcia finished with a share of 33rd place, using an eagle in the final round to score 77 (+5). Lavinia Romito was three strokes behind Garcia with a total score of 242. Romito tied for 42nd place after an 82 in the third round. Â
Emma Kirvan finished with a share of 69th place after a third-round score of 81 for a total of 255. Golfing individually, Mika Miyata withdrew from the event before the final round on Tuesday.Â
