Maverick Duo Garner TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performers of the Week

Omaha, Neb.-- Ian Blackstock and Mason Schroeder have been tabbed as this week's TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performers of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. Blackstock garnered the Men's Diver of the Week and Schroeder earned the Men's Swimmer honors.
Blackstock is the first Maverick to tab his second weekly honors of the season. The Michigan native had another stellar performance on the boards taking first in both the one and three meter. During the 1-meter leg of the meet Blackstock notched a 267.2 with a 17.30 degree of difficulty. On the 3-meter, he recorded a 282.10 final score with a 18.10 degree of difficulty.
"Congratulations to Ian for being recognized again by the Summit League," said diving coach Eric Sprauge. "He's worked hard the last couple of years to put himself in this position when he competes. We recognize there's still plenty of improvement to make and more points to be scored and I look forward to watching Ian continue with our process."
Schroeder earns his first weekly honors after his dominating finishes against Augustana. In the 200-back he finished first with an impressive season best time of 1:53.29. Then in the 100-back Schroeder recorded another first place finish of 51.3.
"Mason has been training hard all year and putting in the extra work that it takes to meet the goals he has set for himself," said Head Coach Jessica Hessel. "We certainly know his strengths but have been pulling apart the flaws he has in his races and training. The past 3 meets he has been working through some race strategies and I'm excited to watch it all come together at the perfect time."
Blackstock and Schroeder along with the rest of the Mavericks will take the road for the A3 Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. Nov. 9-11.
