
Track & Field Has Solid Outing at Nebraska Tune-Up

The Omaha Mavericks Track & Field team hed themselves a Friday night at the Nebraska Tune-Up in Lincoln, Nebraska. They produced no shortage of personal bests in preparation for next weekend's Summit League Indoor Championships.
"This was a great meet to get us ready for next week," Omaha head coach Chris Richardson said. "The fact that we had a lot of big personal bests was great for our student-athlete's confidence. Now they need to keep that momentum riding into the Summit Championships."
Starting off with the 60m run, Tania Gleason ran a PR of 7.82 which lowered her previous best by .09 to finish 6th. Carrie Simonson was just .01 off her lifetime best to finish 5th in 7.71.
In the 200m race, Gleason came back to run another personal best of 25.66 to finish 8th while Bella Fleming ran a 26.41 dropping .34 off her season best.
Moving on to the 400m race. Macy Persinger was just .04 off her indoor best finishing in 59.82. Vanessa Gunderson shaved an additional .12 off her indoor personal best that she set last week. While in the 800m race, Gwen Steffen ran a new indoor personal best of 2:16.88 to finish 7th.
The Mavericks had a pair of PR's in the mile yesterday as well. Lauren Metzger ran a new PR of 5:06.03 dropping 6 seconds off her previous fastest and Dani Howard ran a personal best of 5:19.97.
A Trio of Mavericks ran lifetimes bests. Maya Nachtigal took 8.5 seconds off her old PR to run a 10:26.84, Maret Elgren cut 6.5 seconds off to run a 10:40.72 and Zoe Christenson destroyed her old best by taking off 34 seconds to run a 11:10.43.
60m hurdles - Grace Mustard ran a personal best of 9.22 which was .3 better than her previous fastest and Addi Webster finished just behind in a PR of 9.24.
Weight throw - Lucy Turner improved her season best by over a foot to finish with a distance of 47'10.50"
High jump - Milan Coggins jumped a season best of 5'2.25" to finish 7th
