Halvorson Earns Summit League Golfer of the Week Honors

Omaha, Neb.-- Graduate student Mathew Halvorson is the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Golfer of the Week.
Halvorson recorded three even rounds of 72 at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational at Houston Christian on Monday and Tuesday, Mar. 6-7. He would finish with a score of 216, his best 54-hole score of the 2022-23 season, at Sweetwater country club in Sugar Land, Texas.
The Grand Forks, N.D. native scored an eagle on a par-five hole No. 2 in round three. He sank eight birdies throughout the event and recorded eight holes over par to finish with a share of 22nd place.
Halvorson picks up his first golfer of the week honors since joining the Mavericks in 2020-21. During that time, Mathew has appeared in 26 consecutive tournaments, leading Omaha in eight of them.
Halvorson and the Mavericks head to Phoenix, Ariz. for the GCU Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Mar. 13-14.
