
Mavericks Secure Event Wins, Top 10 Program Finishes and PR's at Kip Janvrin Invitational

In their penultimate outdoor meet of the regular season, the Mavericks put up another strong outing this weekend at the Kip Janvrin Invitational in Indianola, Iowa. The two-day meet featured perfect weather that the Mavericks took advantage of. Omaha tallied event winners, multiple top ten times in program history which were highlighted by some PR's. The Mavericks will wrap the regular season next weekend in Ames, Iowa for a one-day meet at Iowa State University.

- Isabella Fleming finished with a pair of season bests in the 100m (12.64) and 200m (26.06)
- Macy Persinger blasted her PR in the 400m with a time of 58.27
- Olivia Steffen ran a confident 11 second PR in the 1500m with a time of 5:06.49
- Zoe Christenson, in her second steeplechase ever soared to a huge lifetime best of nearly :43 seconds and ran the fifth fastest time in program history
DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 5000m, Omaha had seven solid finishes including three top-12. 5th place - Maya Nachtigal - 17:32.94 (PR) 10th place - Lauren Metzger - 17:36.04 (season best and 8th best time in program history) 12th place - Kamryn Ensley - 17:38.44 Maret Elgren - 18:20.61 (:26.26 PR) Maddie Yardley - 18:26.84 (:33.79 PR) Lily Jackson - 18:53.15 (track 5k debut) Sydney Beaudin - 19:26.19 (track 5k debut)
- The 4x100 team of Tania Gleason, Nina Cuevas, Isabella Fleming, & Carrie Simonson ran a season best time of 47.67 for a first place event victory
- With a third place finish, Senior Vanessa Gunderson shattered her personal best in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:04.91. A time that places her at
10th in program history
- Emma Klein with a leap of 11.75m (38'-06.75") took home a third place finish in Triple Jump
- Tania Gleason ran a smooth 25.13 to finish
2nd in the 200m dash
- Carrie Simonson won the Long Jump with a leap of 5.63m (18-05.75")
- In the 800m a trio of Mavericks shined with two seasons bests & one lifetime best - Paige Blackford - 2:17.09 (SB) Emily Treptow - 2:21.27 (PR) Alicia Ruud - 2:22.31 (SB)
- The team of Macy Persinger, Paige Blackford, Isabella Fleming, & Gwen Steffen ran a season best time of 4:01.02 and took home victory in the 4x400m relay
