Easley and Drake Picked Up Summit League Peak Performer Honors

Omaha, Neb.-- Omaha's Payton Easley and Darby Drake pick up this week's TicketSmarter Peak Performer honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
"Payton has not only been fast this year but consistent," said head coach Jessica Hessel. "She had a dominant performance in back-to-back meets this past weekend. We have a couple more meets until we get to put her up against the best of the best in the conference. I can't wait to see her go for it!"
Easley tabbed her third weekly honors and the women's swimmer of the week after taking first place in all her individual events this weekend. During her relay races, she picked up first place on Friday and second on Saturday. She went 23.86 and 23.39 in her 50-free races, 51.94 and 51.03 in her 100-free races, 1:37.47 and 1:36.30 in the 200-free relay.
Drake earned her sixth weekly honors after two first-place finishes on Saturday against Lindenwood. On the 1-meter Drake scored a 273.90 and finished the 3-meter event with a 293.33.
"Darby had a great competition Saturday. I'm impressed with her mental and physical approach as we get towards the end our season," said diving coach Eric Sprague. "Darby was a bit soar going into the weekend and there was some question if she was going to compete, but Darby showed us how tough of a competitor she is by grinding through with a couple of wins against Lindenwood. Congrats on being recognized by the Summit League again this season!"
Drake, Easley, and the Mavericks will host South Dakota for another Summit League dual on Friday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m.
