Mavericks Tie For Fourth in WIU Intercollegiate

SILVIS, Ill. - The Mavericks finished the WIU Intercollegiate tied for fourth place with a score of 892 (+40) after 54 holes.

Indian Hills CC took first place out of eight teams after shooting 859 (+7) in the three-round event. Fellow Summit League program North Dakota was tied with the Mavericks with 892 points. Individually, Gaspar Glaudas took home first place as the only golfer to shoot under par at 203 (-10). Meanwhile, all five Mavericks finished in the top 30.

Nolan Johnson led the way with a 221 (+8), putting him in 11th place and just a single stroke away from breaking into the top 10. After shooting four over in the first round, Johnson recovered and shot two over in the final two rounds thanks to four birdies.

Also making the top 20 were Porter Topp (222, +9) and Christopher Atkinson (223, +10), who finished tied for 15th and 19th, respectively. Atkinson sat in sixth place after the first two rounds, while Topp bounced back from an uneven second round to just sneak into the top 20.

Rounding out the five-man squad for Omaha were Connor Wilson and Josh Peters who each shot 230 (+17) to finish tied for 30th.

Omaha has a quick as they return home to host the Stampede at the Creek at the Indian Creek Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
