INDIANAPOLIS – 11 Omaha teams earned perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) marks for the 2023-24 academic year, it was revealed Tuesday by the NCAA.
Maverick baseball; men's and women's golf; hockey; men's and women's soccer; softball; men's swimming and diving; men's and women's tennis and volleyball earned perfect marks of 1,000 last academic year.
For the 2023-24 academic year, Omaha teams averaged an APR of 992, above the national average of 984.
Men's and women's golf and women's tennis recorded perfect APR marks for the four-year cohort beginning with the 2020-21 academic year.

"The APR data continues to reflect the high level of academic achievements of our student-athletes and teams," said Executive Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success Lindsey Ekwerekwu. "Omaha's success in the 2020-24 cohort, academically and athletically, reflects our commitment to the holistic development of Maverick student-athletes to prepare them for success beyond sport. I commend the work of our academic success team, student-athletes, coaches and staff."
This is the fourth year of publicly reported APR data after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Three years ago, the Division I Board of Directors approved the release of APR scores but voted to continue the suspension of program penalties.
Each academic year, each Division I member calculates its APR using a simple and consistent formula. Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. For institutions that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
