A four-year letter winner in both cross country and track at Fremont High School...as a senior, became Fremont's first three-time state medalist in cross country, finishing ninth...was a member of the Hartland Conference all-state and all-academic teams...was a district champion in cross country in all four years...ran a personal best of 15:33 as a junior...in track, ran the mile and two mile...as a sophomore, set a personal best of 11:42 in the two mile while medaling at the state championship meet.
