
Mavs Upset 13th-Ranked Augustana

Junior outside hitters Amy McLeay and Jenny Rankin combined for 35 kills as the UNO Mavericks upset 13th-ranked Augustana, 3-1 (30-26, 31-29, 24-30, 30-26) to record their first conference victory of the season before a season-high 743 fans at the Sapp Fieldhouse Friday night, Oct. 10.
Rankin reeled off 11-straight points at the end of game two, as the Mavericks overcame a 29-20 deficit, to pull out the 31-29 victory. Rankin registered a season-high 18 kills, along with 10 digs in the match, while McLeay recorded her 14th double-double of the season with 17 kills and 17 digs. Junior Chelsea Miller, who started her first match at the libero position, tallied a match-high 20 digs.
Sophomores Brianna Ritter and Ashley Freeman each recorded a career-high six blocks as UNO outblocked the Vikings 23-12 in the match
Nebraska-Omaha, which improves to 10-11 on the season and 1-4 in the North Central Conference, will host South Dakota State at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
