Mavs Lose In Overtime To Badgers

Wisconsin's Dan Boeser scored the game-winning goal in sudden death overtime Friday night to defeat the Mavericks 4-3 in the Keystone Group Maverick Stampede.
UNO's Alex Nikiforuk wasted no time putting Nebraska-Omaha on the board 21 seconds into the opening period. UW's A.J. Degenhardt then responded 30 seconds later to tie the score at 1-1.
The Badgers held a 3-2 lead with less than three minutes remaining in the game until Micah Sanford tallied a power play goal with 2:34 remaining to send the game into overtime.
Nebraska-Omaha will face Minnesota in the consolation game at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday. Wisconsin will play Maine in the championship game at 8:05.
