UNO Concludes 3-Match Homestand with USD

The University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team (10-12/1-5 NCC) will conclude its three-match homestand when they battle South Dakota at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, in a 6 p.m. North Central Conference match at the Sapp Fieldhouse.

Junior Amy (Sibbernsen) McLeay (4.28 kpg, .226 hit %) has been the Mavericks' top offensive threat. McLeay, who was married on Sep. 26, has been named to the all-tournament teams at both the Lynn Labor Day Classic and the UNO Tournament. Sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Miller (2.95 dpg) and McLeay (2.97 dpg) lead the UNO defense.
Scouting South Dakota
South Dakota is currently 13-7 on the season and 3-3 in the NCC. The Coyotes are ranked No. 7 in the latest NCAA North Central Region rankings. Senior rightside hitter Becky Olson leads the Coyotes with 4.17 kills and 2.84 digs per game. Junior Lindsey Soukup is second on the team with 3.08 kills and 3.48 digs per game. South Dakota is led defensively by junior libero Lacey Ross, who is averaging 4.19 digs per game.
Girl Scout Night
Saturday's match against South Dakota has been designated as Girl Scout Night with the Mavericks. Between the second and third games, eight $25 camperships will be given away compliments of Arby's, Cox Communications, Omaha Softball Association, and the South Omaha Optimists. In addition, two skating parties, compliments of Skateland, will be given away to the winners of the banner and cheer contest.
