Mavs Open Exhibition Play at Bradley Saturday

Coach Lisa Carlsen's Maverick women's basketball team will get an early test against outside competition when they travel to Bradley University Saturday. Tip-off in Peoria, Ill., is at 2 p.m. The Mavericks return eight letterwinners and two starters from last year's team that went 12-16 overall and finished fifth in the North Central Conference.
The game against the Braves is the first of two pre-season games for the Mavericks. Next up will be a Nov. 9 date at Nebraska.
Neither game will be broadcast on the radio.
Bradley is coached by former UNO assistant and head coach Paula Buscher, who is starting her fourth season.
